NCE study
I would like to find a buddy that is willing to work with me on an eight week study schedule for the NCE preparation with each of the eight content areas. I would like to take some practice exams together on each of the eight areas and challange each other to get a passing score. IS THERE ANYONE WILLING TO KEEP ME ACCOUNTABLE.

I was told to use his book and the library has it but I will also look into what you suggested. I would still like to rent material from someone and perhaps it is just too hard to find this. Money reamins a challenge now. I also hope to find a study group. Are you in one now?

Comment by Trent R. Gray on April 14, 2009 at 12:39pm - I heard that Dr. Rosenthal's study guide is a lot more comprehensive than what you really need in order to get refreshed on the main specifics. It is also more expensive I believe than these other two resources and you will get plenty of content and training with just 1 of these other manuals.

- I found two resources that I found very helpful for study materials. I spent about $130 for Dr. Andrew A. Helwigs Study Guide Manual and training CD's. I have another manual that I downloaded from the NCE Home site that was around $60.00 dollars. This study material for the latter has more content but it is very straight to the point and clear on the main counseling theories, practices, and techniques.

- I just found this site and am also taking the LPC and would like a study group as well. I have not ordered any materials as of yet and would like to know what the best package is for the money. I am on a limited budget and was going to use Dr. Rosenthal's book but I know I need more as has been a while since grad. school. I also would like to rent or borrow (postage paid) any other study materials. Not working at this time and hope to asap after exam!
