I plan to take the NCMHCE exam in December. What study material do you suggest. I have read your name in other's comments stating that your suggestions in the materials were on the mark. Please advise

Dear Dr Linton;
On the case simulations is there an area for open ended or written work, like an essay? or are they -pick something multiple choice questions in which you chose from? Is it three or four hours in length? If you fail how long after can you retake the test?I am in RI ( the smallest state in the union). I am taking the (LCMHC) test for a licensed mental health counselor.
