Kevin,
I do agree with you. It appears to have become a game of jumping through hoops which cost money each time you jump. the test doesn't tell you what kind of counselor you are, only you had the means (cash) to buy books and cd's. In my opinion it's unethical. the same company (NBCC) tells you who to buy programs from. Once i complete my hoop jumping I'm personally going to try to change the system. It's appears i'll have plenty of help with this.

To Paul,
i just passed my NCE yesterday, the best advise i can give yu or anyone else is to use this website and rosenthals books. Take the practice test here and really read the questions. look behond the answer. They drill a little deeper with this test. aslo when you take the test here use the book to look up the answer if you don't know it. it helped me big time. Good luck. Jim

Use the counseling exam website, if you don't know the answer on the screen, look it up in rosenthals book. know more about the OOH not just it's name but how the 9 diget code works. I'm more of a visual learner, i have his tapes to. listen to the tapes but use the books and website to follow up. it made it easier for me. The second test i flew through. less than 2 hours and scored over a hundred. hope this helps. Jim

Yes he does, however make sure you read all the text inbetween the questions. they can ask a question from that information also. See the answer above. i call it, knowing more then the surface information. they can be tricky. but like liton says the answer is there. Jim

Hi Jim, how did you study using the Rosenthal book? When I previously took the test I study using my notes from my graduate courses. That really helped but unfortunately the curve was set high and I failed. I want to use Rosenthal this time but now I am just trying to organize it all. Any suggestions??

use this website and rosenthals book. start about 60 day out and read the answers not just the questions lots of good stuff there. keep taking the test on this site and you'll do fine. Jim
